In this section, you will find answers to the most important topics about our events. For example, the general regulations of the Wine Trophies.
For over 25 years, DWM – Deutsche Wein Marketing has been setting standards in the wine industry. We are specialised in organising and hosting international wine events, from Berliner Wein Trophy and WEINmesse berlin to Asia Wine Trophy and Portugal Wine Trophy.
Anyone related to the wine scene, either wine producers, importers, distributors, suppliers, etc. You can also submit wines on behalf of another company (see “sub-account” in “User Acount” section).
There are several reasons to submit your wines to a Wine Trophy. We organise some of the largest wine competitions and wine fairs worldwide, but one of the most important factors is the quality control: through the patronage of the OIV, UIOE and the VinoFed, the Trophies of the DWM belong to the most strictly controlled wine competitions.
The OIV (Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin) is an intergovernmental organization with a specific and technical orientation and recognized competence in the area of wine, vine, wine-based drinks, raisins and other vine products. On the basis of its recommendations and international standards and guidelines, it promotes the harmonization and exchange of information and knowledge based on a scientific basis with the goal of improving the productivity, product-safety and quality as well as the conditions of production and marketing of wine-growing products.
The UIOE (Union Internationale des OEnologues) unites under its patronage a multitude of national professional associations around the viticulture and wine making. The highly esteemed association is thus the voice of the most important wine associations all over the world. Its mission is to promote and protect both the occupational and economic interests of the oenologists and the related professions.
Quality is the most important element for us, that’s why all DWM Wine Trophies are performed according to OIV and UIOE regulations. On top of that, we went further and were the first ones in the scene to introduce, among other things, oenological analyses of awarded wines and notarial supervision. For several days, the international jury experts taste the wines (blind tasting) using the 100-point score system.
You can check our Terms & Conditions for more detailed information.
Only experts, from different fields, can participate at DWM Wine Trophies as jury members. For example, oenologists, sommeliers, “Masters of Wine”, experienced winemakers and specialist reporters who have proven their qualifications.
